Biography
Laura Irvine is a Research Fellow and also the Technical Officer of the European Commission funded FP6 Integrated Project MICRODIS (www.microdis-eu.be). She earned a Bachelors of Arts with Honours in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University (Halifax, Canada) and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Kent at Brussels. She has been working at CRED since 2007 in project management and research. In MICRODIS, she has also actively pursued researched on displacement and integrated impacts of flood-affected populations in Morpeth and Tewkesbury, United Kingdom, as well as researching impacts on child nutrition after floods in Orissa, India. Her special interests are environment, identity, migration and legal rights issues for vulnerable populations.
